Douglas Ligon: “Shotgun Stories” And “Irreplaceable”

I’ve been watching the trailer for Shotgun Stories and I can’t help but think that it’s already a great movie.  I love the tense & quiet mood and looming tragedy that will ultimately befall the characters of this film.  It just seems that I have a soft spot for revenge-type of films (such as Chan-wook Park’s “Revenge Trilogy” of Oldboy, Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance, and Lady Vengeance).  I guess that I enjoy watching films that explore the worst in people.  Or perhaps it just comforts me to know that these individuals are no different from homophobes.  Or perhaps there’s something sublime about watching films that explore the dark recessess of the human condition.  Or perhaps I’m just suffering from indigestion from that darn Cheesy Beefy Melt at Taco Bell…

Anyway, check out the trailer here:

More importantly, there’s a woofy bear in the trailer that caught my eye: Douglas Ligon.  He reminds me of a chubbier Robert Pastorelli (rest in peace, sir)…

Mr. Ligon also did a country version of Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”…  Er, lol?  ^_^

  1. I caught this movie at Tribeca last year. Its not great, but its good. And the lardy boy flashes enough chest hair to keep you watching. Enjoy.
