10 Year Old Boy Won’t Say The Pledge Until Gays Have “Liberty And Justice”

[vodpod id=Groupvideo.3951079&w=425&h=350&fv=]

It is news such as this that makes me glad that I belong to the human race.  It’s crazy to think that a 10-year-old boy would make a stand for something that doesn’t even involve him. Because of it, he’s ridiculed in his school and called a “gaywad.”  When awkwardly asked with a “cute & funny” question, “What’s a ‘gaywad’?” Will replied:

I really don’t know.  It’s a discriminatory name for homosexuals.

I love this kid!  Ask a stupid question, you get a smart, perfunctory response from a.  10.  year.  old.

It’s interesting how the boy is more mature about the whole situation while his dad and the newscaster found the situation a bit humorous.  This is not an attack on either of them, but this is just my observation based on how they interviewed and talked to the boy.  The dad for instance started laughing when his son described how his classmates assumed that he was gay.  Granted, the father is already involved in a very sticky situation and he’s an amazing father for supporting his son’s First Amendment rights.  Still, point is, what if his son was gay?  (But my have-a-chill-pill nitpickiness was thrown out the window when the dad lovingly elbowed Will at the end of the interview.  It was such an “Awwww” moment.)

Nevertheless, Will Phillips is my hero.  He’s only lived in this world for 1 decade, and he fully understands the concept of “Equal Rights.”

And, since this blog is about bear eye candy, Jay Phillips is definitely a very handsome bear.  His reactions are utterly cute and adorable.  You can see his right thumb quivering in the video while my hero kept picking on the threads of his jeans.  I now want that t-shirt…

Jack Weston: “The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street”

To celebrate Maine’s victory of repealing the law of allowing same-sex marriage, here is a Twilight Zone episode called “The Monsters Are Due on Maine Maple Street”…

Stephen King can’t even top this type of horror.

Billy Villegas: 2010 California Marriage Protection Act PSA

I was sorting through my emails when I noticed an email from Billy Villegas and I literally fainted.  After recuperating, I read through the email and I was glad to hear that he and his wife enjoyed my post about him.  Not only do I already think that Billy is way cool for all the right reasons, he then tells me that he’s involved with this PSA video about the 2010 California Marriage Protection Act:

Thank you, Mr. Villegas.  I am grateful to always find heterosexual folks taking the time to support equal rights for the LGBT community.  Thank you very much…

Zach Galifianakis & Jack Black Urge You To Save Boobs

Zach & Jack Save The Boobs
My wishful thinking...

Zach Galifianakis and Jack Black are just two of the bearish celebrities who are speaking on behalf of the Noreen Fraser Foundation.  NFF is a charitable organization which raises awareness and funds for women’s cancer research.  In the following two videos, we have those two specializing in their own brand of humor as they urge our female brethren to save their boobies…

No funny jokes nor innuendos here.  It’s awesome to know that Jeff Saturday is supporting a good cause to raise awareness and money in finding a cure for breast cancer.  Thank you to Clarian Health for these fantastic photos from Susan G. Komen’s Race For The Cure event on April 18, 2009.

[BearPit] Guy Fieri Wearking A Tanktop In Disneyland

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted with a “BearPit” tag on a subject header.  Heck, I’ve just unloaded my BearBeat fetish, so why not go all out with my armpit fetish as well?  Here is the woofy Guy Fieri from a series of videos in Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival.  Much love and gratitude to winkedinkie’s YouTube Channel for sharing this almost two-hour-long Guy Fieri goodness.  It’s definitely worth the watch and you learn a lot of fun things about him.  And, most especially, he’s wearing his company tanktop (Knuckle Sandwich).  So what does that mean?  Well, bonus armpits shots, what else is there?  -_^

Everybody Hates Guy Fieri

…because he is GORGEOUS.  Yeah, that’s right haters, Guy Fieri is one sexy bear of a man, and his sense of fashion both undermines and accentuates his magnificent handsomeness.  You can only be lucky to look half as beautiful as he does…

Guy Fieri Live UnitedFrom Live United In Wine Country

I just had to get that out of my system as it was in response to the seemingly-universal “douche” comments about him in this TGIF commercial I uploaded a year ago.  It just amazes me how people will just call someone a “douche” based on someone’s appearances (holy crap, I guess someone should pinch me because looks like I have been stranded on an island since my birth).  But, enough of that, here are some more photos of the sexy Guy Fieri…

By the way, ever since I started using Flickr, I’m falling in love with their features.  There’s one that I found accidentally and I urge you guys and gals to try:

The Flickr Hive Mind Search

To find those lovely photos of Mr. Fieri, I did the following:

The Flickr Hive Mind search barClick on the following search results: Guy Fieri

Pretty cool, huh?  You have a better chance of finding more photos of your search by selecting “Text.”  Though you should also try the “Tags” as well just in case the Flickr user did not put any texts on his/her photo.  It’s a pretty cool search tool and not only did I get lost from my bear hunting, I also found a ginormous amount of amazing photographs.  Fantastic stuff…

The Electric James Monroe Iglehart Sings “Silent E”

James Monroe Iglehart (pronounced eagle heart) has one of the most memorable songs, Silent E, in a show that I’ve been a staunch supporter of: The Electric Company.  I would have paid more attention in grade school if my teacher looked like Mr. Iglehart.  And, wow, this gorgeous bear can sing as well.

Buh… Airs… Bears!

Luis Avalos in The Electric Company

As we age, the next generation will rely on our wisdom and guidance while they continue on with the human race.  As a believer of responsible worldwide parenting, I would always approve of childhood education.  In my personal opinion, learning to read is the most fundamental skill our youths need to master.  Especially now, where there are literally mind-bogglingly amounts of easily-accessible information right at our fingertips.

So I’m pleased to find out that one of my influential childhood television show, The Electric Company, is now returning for the new generation of kids.  The original iteration of the show had a funky Motown vibe whereas this new one is updated with hip-hop culture.  It appears to be a very ambitious project where not only is the show isolated in one channel, but will also be broadcasted through the internet, schools, mobile devices, and video games.  I’m not sure how this will play out but I’m definitely excited for it and wishing the program the best.  I feel that The Electric Company and other shows like it did influence me greatly and probably encouraged me to be a teacher (well, ex-teacher).  Not only that, such shows were also highly entertaining and did not talk down to children.  I believe that its entertainment factor (the goofier the better) is also a very important ingredient when it comes to retaining information.

Well, that’s a bit of my personal thoughts on the subject of youth education.  The point is, I noticed that The Electric Company 2009 — wait for it — has one cute chubby Hispanic bear in it.  He appears to be the “Prankster” who manipulates robots and gadgets (the show involves 4 kids gifted with superpowers with words as they battle the neighborhood troublemakers, aka “Pranksters”).  I have no clue who he is, but I’m sure a young boy or young girl will definitely later realize why they would enjoy watching this show…

the-electric-company-12Note the Nintendo Power Glove…  I love this show already!

If there’s a great educational show that I could recommend to any parents out there (specifically those kids between the ages of 6 and 8), WordGirl is a complete blast.  And as for the rest of you (read: all of you, lol), the animated Butcher is definitely cute looking, especially with his gruff Brooklyn accent.

And since I’m in an heightened state of aching nostalgia, check out these awesome theme songs for The Electric Company and 3-2-1 Contact

Anthony Caporale: Concocts The Baracktail

Anthony Caporale is the creator and host of the web series Art of the Drink TV.  It’s an educational series which exclusively focuses on bartending.  The above is his latest drink concoction specifically tailored for this upcoming U.S. Presidential election: The Baracktail.

I’m not really a drinker, but if this Italian bear was a bartender in my town, I think that I’d be in trouble.

Johnny Chung Lee: Academic Bear Making A Difference (Wii Remote Hacks)

Wow.  Hot.  Handsome.  Genius.

Johnny Chung Lee is a creative inventor who had built even more useful applications for the Nintendo Wiimote controller.  And as the following video will show from TED: Ideas Worth Spreading, he has accomplished in providing the masses with cost-effective tools for wide distribution of research & learning presentations.  Nothing sexier than an honest-to-goodness intelligent bear who’s making a tremendous difference in the much-needed funding for the world of Education and Research.
