Woofy Winner Wednesday: Kyle Gass

Well, it was the closest poll so far that it’s almost a tie.  However, based on emails, comments, and poll (106-116), Kyle Gass got the edge and was voted as your woofiest member of Tenacious D.  Here is Kyle as “Walrus Boy” (I kept hearing the most awesomest D song, Wonder Boy) in the it’s-so-terrible-that-it’s-horribly-good film, Wieners.

Two Woofy Tuesday: Jack Black Vs. Kyle Gass

On today’s Two Woofy Tuesday, we are pitting both bearish/chubby members of a satirical rock opera band, Tenacious D.  And, like always, the simple, yet difficult, question is asked…  Who is the woofiest member of Tenacious D: Jack Black or Kyle Gass?

Two Woofy Tuesday ends with this poll…  That is, it will be back after 9 weeks.  In its place will be Two Woofy Tuesday: Beary Yummy Seconds edition.  Hopefully, my sad attempt at a Gummi Bears pun gives you a hint as who would be showing up on every Tuesday for the next 9 weeks…

Jack Black With Bleached Crew Cut Hair In “Tropic Thunder”

I’ve always been a Jack Black fan ever since I discovered Tenacious D on HBO.  I even had a fan page dedicated to that series a couple of years ago (it used to be hosted on AngelFire but it’s now gone; good thing too as it was badly designed).

Anyway, now that he’s popular, I sometimes find myself “losing interest” in him.  Weird, huh?  I guess I’m selfish and I prefer my bear guys not being well-known.  It’s the idea of only a handful of people know about a certain woofy bear gives him a certain mystique.  Kinda like a chick who gets turned on to a married man but once he’s single, it loses its charm.  Or kinda like when “X-Files” had gotten huge when I used to be one of its few fans at the time…

Well, I am trying to change all that, even though I find it difficult.  I’m doing my part and I’m trying to make “lesser-known” bearish men to have as much exposure as possible.  Why be greedy about knowing them?  These guys deserve all the love and adoration they so richly deserve — despite my inherent selfish nature.

Jack Black, on the other hand, does not need such further exposure.  Others might claim that he’s overexposed (oftentimes, critics refer to it literally, as we’ve seen Jack Black in numerous shirtless scenes).  I could see that but, dammit, Mr. Black is just way too hot with a bleached crew cut hair in Tropic Thunder

Joey Oglesby: God Also Hates … Pants On Woofy Bears

I can’t get enough of this woofish, bearish, cubbish guy.  This is his underwear scene from an episode of Friday Night Lights.  I could just picture Jack Black coming out in his undies as well and that would have been such a perfect moment…  (With their musical skills and demented humor, Mr. Oglesby would have been a perfect fit for Tenacious D.)
