The Tight Tan Slacks Of Dezso Ban

The Tight Tan Slacks Of Dezso Ban is one of the best blog titles I have ever come across.  I have no idea what it means, but it’s a blog where the author would reproduce classic weightlifting articles as well as scan their accompanying photos.  Since I’m not a weightlifter by any means, I only visited it for the photos and not the articles.  Yes, as I’ve said it before, I’m very shallow.  Actually, I only stumbled upon the blog because I was researching for more photos of Steve Merjanian (who will be my next post after this) for a good friend, JimJimBear.

After perusing through the archives, here are just some of my favorite ones…

  1. I came across this website by chance. I too have known and been coached by Dezso Ban, The picture of Tony D. leaning on the bench press bar was either taken by me or my som David when he was quite young. Would like to hear from fellow older lifters. I’m 68 now and still train with weights / arobics six days a week.
Best regards and GOD’S bessings, Bill K.

  2. The three photographs of the guy with the beard and sunglasses depict Anthony Ditillo. I believe that he is deceased. He use to write for the old Iron Man magazine when it was published by Perry Rader out of Alliance, Nebraska.

  3. The title “The tight tan slacks of Dezso Ban” comes from an old photograph of Dezso Ban that was published as part of an article by Anthony Ditillo. The photograph showed Dezso ban training doing pulls in a pair of tight, tan slacks, hence the name.

  5. This blog “the tight tan slacks of dezso ban” is one of the most amazing and informative blog i have ever came across. Not only for the weightlifting and bodybuilding views and tips from the masters of the either world, but for the various odd stories appearing.

My all time favorite is a article by John Mc-Williams.

  6. whoah this blog is magnificent i really like studying your posts.

  7. Bottom 4 pictures are of Paul Anderson a 1950’s record holder, the 2 above that are unknown, but the 7th and 8th photos from bottom bearded guy doing squat and deads) are of Lee Moran, a hells Angel and powerlifter who was the first man to squat 1000 lbs in a meet.
