Billy Villegas: 2010 California Marriage Protection Act PSA

I was sorting through my emails when I noticed an email from Billy Villegas and I literally fainted.  After recuperating, I read through the email and I was glad to hear that he and his wife enjoyed my post about him.  Not only do I already think that Billy is way cool for all the right reasons, he then tells me that he’s involved with this PSA video about the 2010 California Marriage Protection Act:

Thank you, Mr. Villegas.  I am grateful to always find heterosexual folks taking the time to support equal rights for the LGBT community.  Thank you very much…

  1. Well, don’t get me wrong or anything else but… is it serious?

I mean, they really want divorce to be illegal?

I’m from another language speaking country so it’s hard to see the sarcasm or anything on it, specially when it’s easy as hell to see people actually thinking like that.

No offense intended, I just want to understand this campaign.

    1. They don’t actually want divorce to be illegal. The campaign is intended to be a satirical response to those who voted last year to ban gay marriage in the United States based on the ridiculous notion that it would hurt families and destroy the “sanctity” of marriage. This ad is an attempt to expose their hypocrisy and throw it back in their face. If anything, divorce is MORE damaging to families than two same-sex individuals getting married so why not ban that also?

      1. oh! Thanks for explaining.

Saddens me to see that gay marriage was banned in US, I thought it would be quite fast fr it to accept it.

And considering this ad, I’d say it does its job well done.

Hope things get a little less ridiculous in the US.
